Effect of Different Fruit Peel Powders as Natural Fertilizers on Growth of Okra (<em>Abelmoschus esculentus</em> L.)

Purpose : Fruit peels waste is one of the accumulate in huge quantity every day. It a serious problem and need to be managed make environment free from pollution. are very rich macro micro nutrients that beneficial for plant growth. By using fruit peel as fertilizer we can reduce load wastes get more benefits than inorganic fertilizer. Research Method The experiment was carried out Completely Randomized Design with six treatments having twenty replicates. Treatments were, recommended application at basal topdressing (T1, control), half dose times 1g banana powder (T2), pomegranate (T3), orange (T4), 0.5g each powders (T5) (T6) both times. All agronomic practices were followed per Department Agriculture, Sri Lanka except fertilizers. Findings results reveals top dressing had significant differences (P<0.05) on height, number leaves plant, leaf area, chlorophyll content, days 50% 100% flowering, dry weights leaves, stem, root fruit, length girth. At 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th picking, highest value obtained T6 lowest T1. Originality/ Value Application into soil leads improve growth yield okra sandy regosol compared present study suggested that, among all tested treatments, would most suitable higher regosol.
